How much do Models get paid? A question that most wonder but never really get a straight answer. That's because the industry has so many areas in which the basic model can get involved that it's virtually impossible to give specific numbers. Below are the basic industry standards of model pay to help guide you in the right grade of payment. Keep in mind that if you are signed with an Agency, they will likely have rights to 20% of your pay for their services.Â
This can vary from job to job.Â
Approximate rates :Â
- Adult $450 full dayÂ
- Adult $400 half dayÂ
- Adult $100 / $130 per hourÂ
- Child $260 full dayÂ
- Child $230 half dayÂ
- Child $50 / $65 per hour
If a model is booked for a TV commercial then this can then become a substantial amount of money.Â
How long does it take to get paid?Â
- Usually within 4 / 6 weeks. All agencies must guarantee to pay the model within 5 working days of receiving the payment.
Do I pay tax?Â
Yes as adults you are classed as self employed and you would be responsible for paying any taxes. Children do not pay tax.
Are expenses paid?
- 90% of the time yes. This should be confirmed prior to you accepting any jobs. You should have conversations with your Agent on your bottom line so they are able to negotiate with client on your behalf.Â
Other Payment Styles:
- Some models might get paid in clothes instead of cash. This works for some and not for others. The model always has the right to decline a job if not being offered the payment and/or payment type they desire.Â
